Steven Mennen has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on development and manufacturing activities. Steven currently holds the position of Vice President of Pre-Clinical Development at Accent Therapeutics, Inc. Prior to this, they worked at Fulcrum Therapeutics, where they held various roles, including Executive Director and Senior Director of Head of CMC. In these roles, they were responsible for overseeing the development and execution of all aspects of CMC in support of clinical development and regulatory filings. Steven also played a key role in the setup and oversight of global clinical supply chains. Before their time at Fulcrum Therapeutics, Steven worked at Amgen, where they held positions such as Principal Scientist and Senior Scientist. Steven led cross-functional teams and developed manufacturing and analytical control strategies for early phase clinical drug substances and drug products. Steven also had experience in innovative solution design and development and led drug substance activities for specific clinical trials. Steven began their career as an intern at Abbott Laboratories in both Medicinal Chemistry and Process Chemistry roles.
Steven Mennen started their education journey at Boston College in 2002, where they pursued a PhD in Organic Chemistry. Steven spent five years at Boston College and completed their doctorate degree in 2007. Following that, from 2006 to 2007, Steven attended Yale University where they further specialized in Organic Chemistry and obtained another PhD. Subsequently, they joined UC Irvine as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in 2007, focusing on Organic Chemistry. This period of their education lasted for two years, ending in 2009.
