Barry Heavey

Barry Heavey is a seasoned professional in the life sciences sector, currently serving as the Global Lead for Life Sciences Industry X and Supply Chain and Managing Director at Accenture since May 2017. Barry excels in enhancing operational readiness, agility, efficiency, and sustainability within complex supply chains, significantly accelerating drug launches and batch releases. Prior to Accenture, Barry held key roles at IDA Ireland, including Head of Life Sciences and overseeing foreign direct investment across multiple sectors such as biopharma and medical devices. With a strong academic background in Genetics (PhD, University of Vienna), Finance and Strategy (MBA, The University of Edinburgh), and Biotechnology (BSc, University of Galway), Barry has also contributed to various organizations, including serving as a Board Member at NIBRT and holding positions in business development and research.
