Hamish Maclennan has a diverse work experience timeline. Hamish began their career in 2016 as an Army Officer (Logistics) in the New Zealand Defence Force. Hamish later worked as a Youth Development Manager, where they managed a group of volunteers and facilitated personal growth programs. As a Catering Manager, they oversaw a team responsible for managing dining facilities, bar services, and field catering for military exercises. In subsequent roles as Stores and Services Manager and Recruiting Manager, Army Logistics Trades, Hamish demonstrated their expertise in managing teams, administrative tasks, and recruitment strategies. Hamish'smost recent position was as an Area Operations Manager at Simply Security, where they oversaw the workflow and security operations across Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin. Hamish is currently working as an Operations Lead at Access Community Health.

Hamish Maclennan completed their military leadership training at the Officer Cadet School of New Zealand in 2016. Prior to that, they attended Hutt Valley High School from 2010 to 2014, but did not earn a specific degree or focus in any specific field of study.
