Jojit Torcedo is a highly experienced laser engineer with a background in materials science and integration engineering. Starting in 2001, they worked as a Proton Accelerator Operator at Loma Linda University Medical Center, where they operated a proton accelerator for cancer treatment and collaborated with medical professionals to ensure accurate and safe delivery of proton beams. In 2010, they joined Technology Assessment & Transfer as a Laser Scientist/Engineer, where they investigated spectra, laser efficiency, and excited state lifetime of laser gain materials and designed innovative technologies. Jojit then worked at Cymer as a Sr. Integration Engineer from 2012 to 2015, where they oversaw integration planning and execution of hardware and software subsystems for extreme ultraviolet (EUV) systems. From 2015 to 2018, they worked at the University of Massachusetts Lowell as a Materials Scientist, focusing on designing specialized dielectrics and metamaterials and developing tests to characterize their properties. Jojit then joined BAE Systems, Inc. in 2018 as a Senior Principal Scientist, where they were involved in the development and demonstration of laser-based technology for military and aerospace applications. Currently, they are working at Access Laser as a Senior Laser Engineer, contributing their expertise in various laser technologies. Throughout their career, Jojit has demonstrated analytical and practical laboratory skills, written software for data analysis, and conducted research that has led to new discoveries and optimized material processing protocols.
Jojit Torcedo obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of California, Riverside, from 1997 to 2001. Jojit further pursued higher education at the same institution and completed a PhD in Physics from 2003 to 2009.
