Sr. Laser Scientist, Project Manager at Access Laser

Rajendra K Shrestha, PhD has a diverse background in laser science and engineering. From 2018 to present, they work at Access Laser Company as a Senior Laser Scientist and Project Manager. In this role, they oversee multiple high-performance laser design and technical projects, supervises a team of engineers, and develops new systems and lasers. RAJENDRA K also collaborates with laboratory scientists and engineers to conceptualize complex theoretical and numerical system models.

Prior to their current role, from 2015 to 2018, Dr. Shrestha worked at Novanta Inc. as a Laser Scientist and Project Lead. Here, they utilized system-level engineering principles and novel approaches to research, design, and formulate state-of-the-art laser systems. RAJENDRA K also supervised multi-disciplined teams and played a key role in the company's R&D efforts.

Before joining Novanta Inc., Dr. Shrestha worked at the University of Washington from 2013 to 2015 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Instructor. In this role, they facilitated the delivery of multiple research projects involving ultracold atoms and molecules. Additionally, they taught undergraduate students on various physics subjects and designed lesson plans to enhance class discussions and student engagement.

Rajendra K Shrestha, PhD, obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Tribhuvan University, Nepal, in the year 2000. RAJENDRA K went on to complete their Master's degree in Physics at Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur, Nepal, from 2000 to 2003. In 2006, Rajendra pursued their MS degree in Optics/Optical Sciences at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, which they completed in 2008. RAJENDRA K'seducational journey culminated in 2013 when they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Photonics / Applied Physics from Oklahoma State University.
