Adnan Hammad is a seasoned healthcare leader with extensive experience in community health, mental health, and research. As the Senior Director of the Community Health & Research Center at ACCESS Community since 1995, Adnan oversees multiple divisions, promoting health-based models and strategic planning on a national and international scale. Adnan holds several academic positions, including Volunteer Professor at Wayne State University and the University of Michigan, and Adjunct Professor at Michigan State University, focusing on ethnicity, disease, and community-based public health. Additionally, Adnan has consulted for various organizations, including the European Commission for the Coordination of East Jerusalem Hospitals and the American Cancer Society, while previously having played strategic roles at Harvard Institute for International Development and the Planning and Research Center on Health Services. ACCESS (Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services) has been serving the community for more than 47 years. Founded by a group of dedicated volunteers in 1971 out of a storefront in Dearborn’s impoverished south end, ACCESS was created to assist the Arab immigrant population adapt to life in the United States. Today, ACCESS is the largest Arab American community nonprofit in the United States. With 11 locations and more than 120 programs serving metro Detroit, ACCESS offers a wide range of social, economic, health and educational services to a diverse population.
