Leah Young M.ed., Afc®

Leah Young, M.Ed., AFC® has extensive experience in the education and financial aid field. Leah currently works as the Regional Director for the Center for Education & Financial Capability at AccessLex Institute, where they deliver financial education workshops, creates programming and materials for member law schools, and conducts one-on-one counseling sessions on personal finance. Prior to this, Leah served as the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment & Director of Financial Aid at Dickinson College, where they played a key role in implementing awarding policies and improving aid offer communications. Leah also served as the Director of Financial Aid at Dickinson College and the Director of Admissions and Financial Aid at Pennsylvania State University, Dickinson Law. Leah's earlier experience includes roles at Columbia Business School and Columbia University, where they managed financial aid processes and provided student services. Leah began their career as a High School Teacher, teaching theater and overseeing drama club productions.

Leah Young, M.Ed., AFC®, has a strong educational background. Leah obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Communications, Theater & Speech from Union University, where they studied from 1997 to 2001. Afterward, they pursued further education at Columbia University from 2011 to 2013, specializing in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution.

Later on, Leah continued their education at Penn State University, where they completed their Master of Education degree in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration from 2016 to 2018. During the same period, they also obtained a Graduate Certificate in Institutional Research from Penn State University.

In addition to their formal education, Leah Young has achieved the Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) certification from AFCPE® (Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education®) in December 2022.
