Ohwo Kensington Onajero Ph.D.

Ohwo Kensington Onajero has an extensive work experience in the field of auditing and risk management. Ohwo started their career as an Internal Control Officer at Access Bank Plc in 2006 and later transitioned to the role of Operational Risk Manager. In 2012, they joined Wema Bank Plc as an Information Systems Auditor.

From 2016 to 2018, Ohwo worked as an Information Systems Auditor at Fidelity Bank PLC, where they were responsible for conducting IT reviews and assisting in the implementation of information system projects.

Ohwo then moved on to Accion in 2018, where they served as an IT Risk Manager. In this role, they analyzed risk scenarios, developed risk awareness programs, and correlated risk scenarios with relevant business processes.

In 2019, Ohwo joined Accion Microfinance Bank Limited as the Head of the Internal Audit Department. In this position, they developed an annual risk-based internal audit plan and oversaw its implementation. Ohwo also kept senior management and the Audit & Compliance Committee informed of any necessary changes to the plan.

Currently, Ohwo is working at United Capital Plc in an Internal Audit role, starting in 2023.

Ohwo Kensington Onajero holds a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Accounting from Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Nigeria. Ohwo also earned a Bsc degree in Accounting from Delta State University, Nigeria, and an Msc degree in Accounting from the University of Lagos.
