Leah Shearman

Leah Shearman is currently the Global Head of Development at Accountability Lab, a position they have held since 2025. Previously, Leah served as the Interim Programme Manager at Democracy Works Foundation from 2017 to 2018, where they led project start-up phases for USAID-funded initiatives. Leah's extensive experience includes roles as Senior Business Development Officer and Senior Technical Advisor with World Vision, where they guided grant acquisition and management processes across several African countries between 2012 and 2022. They also contributed to program development and strategic initiatives at organizations like VSO and the Canadian International Development Agency, demonstrating a commitment to humanitarian efforts and social accountability throughout their career. Leah earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Carleton University and a Master's in Democratic Governance from the University of Cape Town.
