M.sc. Juan Oportus

Juan Oportus, M.Sc. has a diverse range of work experience in mechanical engineering and product development. Juan most recently worked at Accuray as a Group Lead, Mechanical Engineering, where they were responsible for leading a team of Mechanical Engineers and executing engineering projects. Prior to this, they worked as a Mechanical Systems Engineer at Accuray, where they conducted research, designed products, and developed mechanical components. Juan also has experience as a Product Sustaining Engineer at Accuray, managing the complete product life cycle and ensuring product quality. Before joining Accuray, Juan worked as a Custom Product Engineer at Enerpac Tool Group, where they created and developed new engineering designs and managed the product life cycle. Juan also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and as a Support Engineer at ARAUCO, where they supervised production and improved operational efficiency.

Juan Oportus, M.Sc. holds a Master of Science degree in Materials Science (Mechanical Engineering) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which they obtained from 2006 to 2007. Prior to that, they graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad de La Frontera, where they studied from 1998 to 2002. Additionally, Juan has acquired several certifications throughout their career, including Interpersonal Communication from LinkedIn in April 2023, Unconscious Bias from LinkedIn in May 2022, Manager Boot Camp Online from the Wisconsin School of Business Center for Professional & Executive Development in June 2020, and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate from WMEP Manufacturing Solutions in February 2019.
