Diane Abela

Diane Abela has a diverse work experience in the field of information security. Diane is currently the Chief Information Security Officer at Accurx and a Non-Executive Director at Payhound. Diane founded Strategic Security in 2020 and worked as the Social Media Officer at MARM - Malta Association of Risk Management in 2022. Prior to that, they held various positions at Gaming Innovation Group, including Director of Information Security, Head of Information Security, and Information Security Officer. Diane also served as the Group Information Security Officer at Hili Ventures Limited. Earlier in their career, they worked at PwC Malta as a Senior Associate and part-time Tutor. Diane gained experience through student internships at PwC Malta and MITA (Malta Information Technology Agency). Diane also worked as an Educator in technology at TCTC.

Diane Abela has a diverse education history in the field of Information Technology and Computer Science. From 2008 to 2010, they attended De la Salle College Malta and studied Mathematics and Computer Science. Diane then pursued their Bachelor's degree from 2010 to 2013 at the University of Malta, specializing in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, and Artificial Intelligence. Later, in 2015 and 2016, Diane enrolled at Lancaster University, where they obtained their Master of Science (MSc) degree in Information Technology, Management, and Organizational Change.

Additionally, Diane Abela has also earned certifications in their field. In 2015, they acquired the certification of Computer Information Systems Auditor from ISACA Malta Chapter. Recently, in 2021, they completed the Conducting Practical Risk Analysis certification offered by (ISC)².
