Karista Collum

Past President at American Choral Directors Association

Karista Collum has a diverse work experience in the field of music education and leadership. Karista is currently serving as the Choral Director at Palm Beach Gardens High School since June 2021. Prior to that, they held the position of Choral Director at Jeaga Middle School from January 2016 to January 2022. Karista has also been actively involved in several professional organizations, including the American Choral Directors Association, Sigma Alpha Iota, Omicron Delta Kappa, Kappa Delta Pi International Education Honor Society, and the Florida Music Educators Association. Karista has held various leadership roles within these organizations, such as Past President, Secretary, and Vice President. Additionally, Karista has coaching experience as a Cheerleading Coach for AAL, where they coached girls aged 8 to 13 in cheerleading, stunting, jumping, and dancing from 2007 to 2012. Karista is an accomplished music educator and leader in the field.

Karista Collum completed their education in music education at various institutions. Karista first attended Seminole Ridge High School from 2007 to 2010, where they obtained their high school diploma in the field of music teacher education. Following this, they enrolled at Florida Atlantic University from 2010 to 2015 and earned their Bachelor's degree in Music Education. Lastly, from 2019 to 2021, Karista pursued their Master's degree in Music Education at Mississippi State University.
