Sergio E. Rivas

Sergio E. Rivas currently serves as the President of Tanager since November 2022 and has been with ACDI/VOCA as Regional Managing Director since January 2008, focusing on business development, project support, staff mentoring, and corporate initiatives. Rivas has held several key roles as Country Representative and Chief of Party for various USAID programs in Honduras, Colombia, and Paraguay. Rivas’s expertise encompasses project supervision and technical input in alternative development and livelihoods in Colombia, Bolivia, and Afghanistan. Previously, Rivas operated as a Certified Contracting Officer's Representative for USAID/Bolivia, managing a comprehensive development portfolio. Rivas holds multiple certificates and degrees, including a Master of Science in Economic Development from Universidad Mayor de San Andrés and an Executive Leadership certificate from Cornell University.
