Douglas Nelson

Douglas Nelson has over 20 years of work experience in the field of database administration. Douglas started their career in 1987 at Reynolds Electrical and Engineering Co. Inc., where they provided support, development, and maintenance on Human Resources applications. Douglas also led a project to migrate HR functions to Peoplesoft HR application.

In 1995, they moved to Bechtel Nevada as a Systems and Application Specialist III, supporting and maintaining Peoplesoft Human Resources and Payroll applications. Douglas focused on the development of EEO based reporting and data migration.

Douglas joined Managed Business Solutions in 1996 as a Consultant, where they worked until 2004. During this time, they gained expertise in database administration and provided support for multiple Oracle databases.

In 2004, Douglas joined Hewlett-Packard as a Database Administrator, providing support for various Oracle databases including standalone databases, RAC databases, standby databases, and site-to-site databases. Douglas worked on databases ranging in size from a few gigabytes to multiple terabytes.

From 2013 to 2014, they worked as a Contractor under Apex Systems and provided SAP Oracle database administration support to Lockheed Martin. Douglas maintained and supported 40+ SAP Oracle databases of various sizes on HP-UX and Linux based systems.

In 2014, Douglas joined Heartland Technology Group as an Oracle DBA, working as a contractor for the USDA. Douglas installed and managed several Oracle databases and implemented various database changes.

Since 2016, Douglas has been working at Ace Info Solutions LLC as an Oracle Database Administrator. Douglas is responsible for maintaining and enhancing Oracle databases for a government agency. Douglas loads large amounts of data, adds functionality to the database, and provides support to the development teams.

Throughout their career, Douglas has demonstrated strong technical skills in Oracle database administration, SAP Oracle database administration, and database maintenance. Douglas has experience working with various database sizes and versions.

Douglas Nelson completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas from 1984 to 1988. Douglas then pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Business Administration and Management, General, again from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, from 1990 to 1992. Later, from 1999 to 2002, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer/Information Technology Administration and Management from Regis University.
