Dries Carmeliet

Co-founder at Acelab

Dries Carmeliet is a Belgian architect, entrepreneur, and research associate currently based in Boston, Massachusetts. Dries is the co-founder of Acelab, a startup that is developing a software platform to help architects and engineers design and build more efficient and sustainable buildings. Prior to their work at Acelab, Dries was an architect at WIT architecten, a freelance architect, and a student tutor at Sagio.be VZW. Dries also completed summer internships at plusoffice architects and KU Leuven. In 2014, Dries spent a semester studying abroad at ETH Zurich. Dries then went on to earn their Master of Science in Architecture Studies from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2020. While at MIT, they were also a research associate at the Leventhal Center for Advanced Urbanism and a teaching assistant to Prof. Alexander D'Hooghe. In addition, Dries was accepted into the MIT design X Accelerator program as an entrepreneur.

Dries Carmeliet works with Travis Laborde - Head of Engineering, James Minor - VP, Product Development, and Matt Samson - Chief Revenue Officer. Dries Carmeliet reports to Vardhan Mehta, Co-Founder & CEO.
