Alliance for Climate Emergency
Shaniqua is one of ACE’s Civic Engagement Managers. She works to educate and empower youth to take action on climate change through civic engagement and advocacy campaigns. Prior to ACE, she pursued a master’s degree in Urban Planning with a concentration in Community development at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Her passions for community, social justice, and equity led her to a career as a community organizer in reproductive justice with Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan. Her work there included supporting local advocates and engaging local elected officials to build momentum and mobilize communities.
Particularly focused on underserved communities, Shaniqua spent the last 5 years in Detroit but was born and raised in Cleveland. She is excited to return to the city where her love for social justice and community engagement began.
