Achievement Centers for Children
Carolyn McGinty has over three decades of experience in photography, specializing in equine and fine art photography, with a freelance career starting in 1989 and numerous published works. Since January 2015, Carolyn has served as a Therapeutic Riding Volunteer at Achievement Centers for Children, taking on roles such as Session Leader, Horse Leader, and Side Walker while developing lesson plans for ground lessons. Previously, from October 2001 to September 2015, Carolyn worked as Photo Manager and Art Director in the Creative Department at AmeriMark Direct, where responsibilities included directing photography for multiple catalogs and managing a photography staff to ensure alignment with company branding. Carolyn holds a B/A in Fine Arts, focusing on photography, graphic design, and multimedia, from Ryerson University, where studies were completed between 1985 and 1989.
Achievement Centers for Children
Founded in 1940 as the Society for Crippled Children, we now serve children and adults with a broad range of disabilities and special needs including autism, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and other physical and emotional challenges. Our unique, comprehensive service model weaves together therapy, intensive therapy, education and autism services, recreation, adapted sports and family support services to meet the needs of the entire family. The agency serves individuals across the lifespan, with a special focus on children from birth through age five. In Fiscal Year 2019-2020, many of the clients served by the Achievement Centers participated in or received multiple programs and services. Over the past year, the agency provided 194,201 service hours to more than 3,000 individuals and their families.
