Chief Operating Officer at Achieving the Dream

Emily Froimson has a diverse work experience spanning various leadership roles in the education sector. Emily currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Achieving the Dream since April 2019. Previously, they were the President of Gateway to College National Network for four years, where they facilitated partnerships between colleges, school districts, and communities to provide alternative education programs for at-risk high school students. Prior to that, Emily was the Vice President of Programs at The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, overseeing the development and implementation of educational programs for high ability students with financial need. Emily has also worked as a Faculty Associate and Teaching Assistant at Arizona State University and as the Executive Director of New Pathways for Youth. Emily began their career as an Associate at both Steptoe & Johnson LLP and O'Melveny & Myers LLP.

Emily Froimson attended Swarthmore College from 1983 to 1987, where they earned a BA (with Honors) in History and Art History. From 1989 to 1992, they pursued their legal studies at Boston University School of Law, graduating with a JD (magna cum laude) in Law. Later, from 2000 to 2004, Emily completed coursework towards a doctorate in Justice Studies at Arizona State University.
