Michel Lamie

Michel Lamie joined the Executive Board in January 2017 and became vice-chair in April 2021. He was appointed Chief Financial Officer in April 2017.As well as Finance, Mr Lamie is responsible for Balance Sheet Management, Strategy (M&A and Programme Office) and Achmea Reinsurance. Mr Lamie is chair of the Supervisory Board of Achmea Reinsurance Company N.V. and a director of Achmea Pensioen- en Levensverzekeringen N.V. and Achmea Schadeverzekeringen N.V. He is vice-chair of the Board of Directors at Interamerican Greece.

Mr Lamie is a registeraccountant and studied economics and accountancy at VU Amsterdam. After graduating, he began his career at KPMG and then moved to RSA Benelux as CFO. Mr Lamie subsequently joined Achmea, most recently as Group Director Finance & Control. Since 2005, he has been a member of the Board of De Goudse Verzerkingen, initially as vice-chair, and from 2009 to 2016, as chair. Mr Lamie also spent many years as a director of the Dutch Association of Insurers (Verbond van Verzekeraars) and as chair of the Supervisory Board of the intermediary business Van Lanschot Chabot. In addition to his role at Achmea, Mr Lamie is also a member of the Supervisory Board of Koninklijke De Heus.
