Alfredo Schiappa has a diverse range of work experience in the IT industry. Alfredo began their career at small software companies as a Freelance Programmer. Alfredo then worked as a WebMaster and Programmer for Pelagus Multimedia, where they designed and developed websites and client/server software. At CPI Progetti Spa, Alfredo started as a Software Developer and progressed to Senior Developer, Analyst, and finally Architect. Alfredo was responsible for analyzing, designing, and developing various types of software systems, as well as implementing distributed n-tier architectures. At ACI Informatica spa, their most recent position, Alfredo held several leadership roles, including Head of IT Architecture, Head of Release & Deployment Management, Head of Architecture, Technology and Datawarehouse, Head of Architecture, and Head of Architecture and Technologies. In these roles, they were accountable for evolving the technology and process architecture, leading the adoption of DevOps practices, transitioning system architectures to support DevOps, and driving technological innovation in the enterprise. Overall, Alfredo has a strong background in software development, architecture, and technology management.

Alfredo Schiappa's education history begins with their high school education at Liceo Scientifico Statale "Archimede" from 1988 to 1993. During this time, their studies were specifically focused on math and science.

In 2017, Alfredo enrolled at the University of the People and pursued an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Computer Science, which they completed in 2019. Following this, they continued their studies at the same university and earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from 2019 to 2022.

In addition to their formal education, Alfredo has obtained multiple certifications. In 1998, they became a Microsoft Certified Professional, and in 1999, they earned the certification of Microsoft Certified Solution Developer. In 2000, Alfredo achieved the status of Microsoft Certified Database Administrator. Alfredo also holds the ITILv3 Foundation certification from APMG-International, obtained in 2011, as well as the Togaf 9 Foundation certification from The Open Group in 2014. Alfredo added to their certifications by obtaining the COBIT 2019 Foundation Certificate from ISACA in 2019. Lastly, they obtained two certifications in 2020 and 2021, respectively, which are the ITIL 4 - Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management from AXELOS Global Best Practice and the PRINCE2 6th Edition Foundation in Project Management, also from AXELOS Global Best Practice. Additionally, Alfredo holds the Certified Business Process Associate (CBPA) certification from the Association of Business Process Management Professionals International, obtained in 2019.
