Nell Shanahan, LCSW, MA, is a seasoned family therapist with extensive experience in the mental health field. Currently serving as a Family Therapist at the Ackerman Institute for the Family and maintaining a private practice since August 2014, Shanahan specializes in individual, couple, and family therapy. Previous roles include social worker positions at the YinOva Center and Mount Sinai Medical Center, where support group facilitation and intensive care unit services were provided. Shanahan's educational background includes a Clinical Externship in Family Therapy from the Ackerman Institute, an MSW in Clinical from Yeshiva University, an MAR in Ethics from Yale University, an AB in Religious Studies from Dartmouth College, and education at Choate Rosemary Hall.
