Abdi Soltani is an experienced civil rights advocate currently serving as the Executive Director of the ACLU of Northern California since April 2009, focusing on issues such as criminal justice reform, reproductive rights, and immigrants’ rights. Prior to this role, Abdi held the position of Executive Director at PARSA Community Foundation from March 2008 to March 2009, emphasizing the importance of the Iranian-American community through fundraising and civic engagement. Abdi also led the Campaign for College Opportunity as Executive Director from May 2004 to April 2008, promoting educational access as a fundamental civil rights issue. Earlier in the career, Abdi was an organizer and Executive Director at Californians For Justice from 1995 to 2004, where initial efforts centered around defeating Proposition 209. Abdi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Stanford University, earned between 1991 and 1995.
