Fatima Shabazz is an accomplished social justice activist and advocate with over 20 years of lived experience. Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Fatima Speaks LLC since September 2019, Fatima is dedicated to issues such as prison reform and political reform. In addition, as the Policy/Advocacy Team Lead for the ACLU since May 2021, Fatima works on creating positive policies to protect the transgender community involved in sex work, including drafting bills for legislative consideration. Previous roles include serving as a Legal Assistant at the TGI Justice Project from November 2018 to May 2022, a Peer Advisor at L.A. CADA from May 2019 to November 2019, and a Nightclub Entertainment Manager at The Livingroom from June 2014 to June 2015. Fatima holds a Bachelor's degree in African-American/Black Studies from Howard University and a high school diploma from Tottenville High School.
