Liz Jarit currently serves as a Senior Staff Attorney at the ACLU since May 2023. Previously, Liz held positions at the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender from September 2012 to May 2023, including Deputy Public Defender and Assistant Deputy Public Defender in the Appellate Section. Prior experience includes working as a Law Clerk for the Hon. Anne M. Patterson at the Supreme Court of New Jersey and several legal internships focused on civil rights and social justice issues, including with the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Urban Justice Center, and the EEOC. Liz's educational background includes a J.D. in Civil Rights from New York University School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science and Religion from Middlebury College.
