Sara'smost recent position was as the Vice President of Global Clinical Laboratory Operations at ACM Global Laboratories, where they were responsible for driving process improvements, ensuring high-quality products, and enhancing efficiency across ACM laboratories in multiple countries. Prior to their role at ACM, Sara served as the Executive Director at Sutter Health and the Director of Operations at National Jewish Health. Sara also held positions as Laboratory Manager at Labs Inc and Site Director at Lancaster Laboratories. Sara's expertise lies in managing analytical scientists, maintaining positive relationships, and achieving strategic growth in various laboratory and clinical settings.

Sara (Dirscherl) DeGroot pursued their education starting in 2001, when they enrolled at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Sara spent four years there, from 2001 to 2005, and obtained a PhD in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. Returning to academia after more than a decade, Sara enrolled at the University of Denver in 2017. Sara completed an Executive MBA program, specializing in Business and Leadership, in four years, graduating in 2021.
