Gavin Somers is an experienced professional with a strong background in Aboriginal employment and cultural inclusion. Between March 2013 and September 2021, Gavin served as the Manager of the Aboriginal Employment Team at the Department of Justice and Community Safety in Victoria, leading initiatives aimed at enhancing employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Currently, Gavin is the Director of First Nations, Equity & Social Policy at ACMI and has held various roles in policy and theatre. Additionally, Gavin is a musician with the Jarrah Band and has provided freelance voice work for SBS and ABC since 2009.
