Alex Bouaziz is the co-founder and CEO of Deel, the global payroll and HR platform for global teams. An entrepreneur, engineer, and product leader, Alex co-founded Deel in 2019 with a focus on making it easier for companies to hire, manage, and pay people across borders. His interest in global work was shaped in part by his own international background and by seeing how geography could limit access to opportunity for talented people. Under his leadership, Deel has grown into one of the world’s largest fully remote companies, with more than 7,000 team members across 110 countries, supporting over 40,000 customers worldwide. He has helped guide the company’s expansion from a startup focused on contractor hiring to a global leader spanning payroll, compliance, HR, mobility, and global workforce infrastructure.
Alex Bouaziz grew up in Paris and studied at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology before earning a master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from MIT. Before founding Deel, he co-founded Sarona Ventures, where he remains a founding partner and active private investor in technology startups. He is known for a hands-on leadership style centered on speed, customer focus, and a strong sense of ownership across teams, with a particular emphasis on building products that solve practical problems for globally distributed businesses. Outside of work, Alex enjoys football, gaming, and classical music.
