Georgina Russell has an extensive work history in various marketing, development, and management roles. Starting in 1997, they worked as a Development Coordinator at the Perth International Arts Festival, implementing sponsorship agreements. From 1999 to 2001, they served as the Operations & Development Manager at RTRFM 92.1, a community radio station in Perth. Following that, they worked as the Operations & Media Manager at PR Newswire (NA Europe) from 2001 to 2003. From 2003 to 2005, they took on the role of Office/Production Manager at Monkey Kingdom. In 2006, they became the Marketing, Communications & Development Manager at the Melbourne Fringe Festival. Starting in 2008, they worked at the NGV National Gallery of Victoria, starting as a Senior Coordinator for Corporate Partnerships, then a Senior Marketing Coordinator, and finally as the Marketing Manager. In 2013, they took on the role of Community Relations & Marketing Manager at Orchestra Victoria. From 2013 to 2016, they worked as the Marketing & Development Manager at the Melbourne Writers Festival. Finally, from 2016 to 2022, they held multiple positions at ACMI, including Director of Brand & Marketing (parental leave backfill), Director of Development, and most recently, Director of Commercial & Development. In these roles, they played a significant role in shaping ACMI's strategic direction, achieving ambitious revenue targets, and establishing major partnerships.
Georgina Russell obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Arts from Edith Cowan University from 1992 to 1994. Georgina then pursued an Associate Diploma of Arts in Arts Management from the Western Australian School of Art & Design, which they completed from 1997 to 1998.
