ACNUR y su Comité de Apoyo en España El Comité español de ACNUR es una organización no gubernamental española, creada en 1993, y considerada de Utilidad Pública. El comité español de ACNUR (España con ACNUR) apoya el trabajo de la Agencia de la ONU para los refugiados: proteger y asistir a los refugiados en todo el mundo. Ayudamos a ACNUR a atender las necesidades de las personas refugiadas más vulnerables, fomentando la concienciación y el apoyo social a los programas de ayuda humanitaria de ACNUR. ¿Cómo ayuda ACNUR a los refugiados? ACNUR distribuye ayuda humanitaria a los refugiados, instalando campos y proporcionando agua, comida, medicinas, ropa y mantas. Para ello ACNUR cuenta con oficinas en 128 países. Más del 88% de su personal trabaja sobre el terreno, a menudo en condiciones difíciles y peligrosas. Desde su creación en 1951, ACNUR ha prestado asistencia a más 50 millones de personas, y ha recibido el Premio Nobel de la Paz en dos ocasiones, 1954 y 1981. En 1991 recibió también el Premio Príncipe de Asturias de la Concordia.
