Marcos Semmler

Marcos Semmler is a Managing Partner and co-founder of ACON Southern Europe Advisory. Prior to co-founding ACON Southern Europe Advisory, Mr. Semmler was a Partner at SWC. Prior to SWC, he spent nine years at Demeter Partners, a French clean technology fund, where he was Partner and Country Manager responsible for investments in the Iberian Peninsula. Before that, Mr. Semmler was a Managing Partner at GED Capital, a Spanish mid-size private equity firm. He joined GED Capital from the Spanish public company AESA, which belongs to the SEPI Group, where he was the Finance Director. He started his career with five years in investment banking at Hill Samuel and WestLB, focusing on Spain and Portugal. Mr. Semmler serves on the Board of Directors of Alsur, Contenur and Formación Alcalá, each ACON Southern Europe portfolio companies.

Mr. Semmler earned a B.S.B.A. in International Business from the University of Colorado Boulder, a Master in Finance from IE Business School and has completed the General Management Program (PDG) for directors and senior managers at IESE Business School. Mr. Semmler speaks Spanish, English and German fluently, and speaks French conversationally.
