Derek Langton

Derek Langton is a co-founder and general partner at Acquired Wisdom Fund since September 2021, focusing on assisting seasoned professionals in developing scalable technology products. As a self-employed angel investor since January 2013, Derek has also served as a member of the Public Safety Advisory Board for the City of Mountain View from May 2021 to December 2024, advising on public safety matters. Volunteer work includes supporting the Community Services Agency in food distribution. Derek previously directed the FFL Startup Accelerator from August 2012 to September 2021, supporting early-stage companies. Earlier experience includes mobile app consulting at Moot Dog Dev and iOS development for Smoopa, notably creating a widely recognized shopping companion app. Derek's career began as a state trooper with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, where notable achievements included receiving two Medals of Life Saving. Educational credentials feature training from the Massachusetts State Police Academy and degrees from UMass Boston and Quincy College.
