John Powter

John Powter currently serves as the Head of Growth at Acrisure, a position held since October 2023. Prior to this role, John co-founded GDP Advisors in May 2013, a consulting firm focused on Employee Benefits & Risk Management, where strategic initiatives led to the formation of eight national programs aimed at addressing organizational risks. Additionally, John was President of Jordan & Jordan Insurance, a subsidiary of Powter Insurance, from June 2012 to October 2023, leveraging the market expertise of Linda Jordan to enhance customer service. John has also held the position of President at Powter Insurance since August 1994, helping clients manage and quantify emerging risks. Early career experience includes serving as an Account Executive at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. from August 1990 to August 1993, assisting in customer service and marketing for large commercial insurance accounts. John holds a degree in Risk Management, Finance, and Insurance from the University of North Texas and has completed advanced studies in Sales Mastery and Leadership Development.
