Caterina Schulz

Director, Early Intervention & Assessment Services at Act for Kids

With a passion for protecting children, Caterina has more than 30 years of experience as a Social Worker. Caterina joined Act for Kids early in 2013, setting up the Intensive Family Support Service (formerly Fostering Families) in the Fraser Coast & North Burnett region.

Working in Child Safety for 25 years, Caterina has had varying roles including Manager and Senior Practitioner in centers across the State and has worked in both Yarrabah and Palm Island Communities. As a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and with extensive experience in providing support to multidisciplinary teams, staff training, support, and supervision, Caterina is now responsible for a number of services stretching from Brisbane to Rockhampton.

Seeing children suffer the trauma of experiencing abuse and neglect first-hand, Caterina believes that more needs to be done to support parents to make positive changes so they can look after their children and keep them safe.
