Geert van Asbeck

Geert Van Asbeck serves as the Managing Director of Stichting REF FM since January 2019 and has been the Initiator and host of I-am-Kakuma since January 2021. As a Co-Founder of Business Incubation Centres in the Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya since March 2018, Geert demonstrates a commitment to supporting refugee communities. Previous roles include Local Representative in Kenya for PUM Netherlands senior experts (September 2017 - January 2021), International Coordinator for Kilimanjaro Film Institute (January 2007 - September 2017), and Executive Director at RedOrange Media and Communications (September 2015 - July 2017). Geert's academic background includes studies at the University of Amsterdam and Herman Jordan.
