Andreessen Horowitz is a leading American venture capital firm, founded in 2009 by Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz. The firm is based in Menlo Park, California, and has over $4 billion in assets under management.

Andreessen Horowitz invests in many different sectors, including enterprise software, semiconductors, Internet of Things, and biotechnology. In recent years, the firm has been particularly active in the enterprise software space, with investments in companies such as Slack, Workday, and GitHub.

Prior to co-founding Andreessen Horowitz, Marc Andreessen was a co-founder of Netscape and the creator of the Mosaic web browser. Andreessen also co-founded the software company Loudcloud, which later became Opsware and was acquired by HP.

Ben Horowitz is a co-founder of Andreessen Horowitz and a well-known Silicon Valley entrepreneur and investor. Prior to co-founding Andreessen Horowitz, they co-founded and served as CEO of the e-commerce company Loudcloud.

A PhD dropout, Andreessen's educational background is in computer science from some of the most prestigious schools in the world. Andreessen has a MS from Stanford University and a diploma from the National Technical University of Athens in Electrical & Computer Engineering.
