Stephen Tully

Senior Director, Systems Engineering at Activ Surgical

Stephen Tully has extensive experience in the field of system engineering and software development. Stephen currently holds the position of Senior Director of Systems Engineering at Activ Surgical since April 2022, where they are responsible for leading the systems engineering team. Prior to this role, Stephen served as the Director of Systems Engineering at Activ Surgical from June 2020 to April 2022. Before joining Activ Surgical, Stephen worked at Medrobotics Corporation for six years. In their last role at Medrobotics, they served as a Senior Staff Systems and Software Engineer from September 2017 to January 2019. Stephen has also worked at Carnegie Mellon University, where they held various research roles, including Post-Doctoral Research Fellow from June 2012 to June 2013, PhD Research Candidate from May 2007 to May 2012, and MS Research Assistant from August 2005 to May 2007. Stephen began their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Yale University in May 2003.

Stephen Tully completed their education in the field of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Stephen obtained their Bachelor of Science degree from Yale University in 2005. Stephen continued their studies at Carnegie Mellon University, earning a Master of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2007. Stephen then pursued a Ph.D. at Carnegie Mellon University, specializing in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and graduated in 2012.
