James Scholtz

James Scholtz currently holds the position of Activate Fellow at Activate since June 2023, where the focus is on bringing scientific research to market. Additionally, Scholtz serves as an Innovation Fellow at The City University of New York and is the Founder and CEO of Vyir Inc, a company dedicated to developing innovative optical infrared imaging technology. Previous experiences include roles as a Research Associate at Hunter College, Technical Business Development at Inferenx Labs Inc., and participation in the NSF I-Corps program as an Entrepreneurial Lead. Scholtz's background also features a tenure as a Senior Optical Engineer at Chromation and an Independent Technical Consultant at BAE Systems, Inc. Scholtz holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from Stony Brook University and a Master's Degree in Physics from The City College of New York.
