Jeffery Song

Fellowship Manager, Activate Anywhere at Activate

Jeffery Song is the Fellowship Manager at Activate Anywhere. Jeffery was previously a Transportation Policy Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of California, Davis, and a Fellowship Program Manager at the California Council on Science and Technology (CCST).

Jeffery's research has focused on clean transportation pilot programs in rural, disadvantaged communities in California. Jeffery has also developed transportation models to understand emissions impacts of shared, automated vehicles. In their role as Fellowship Program Manager, they designed and facilitated professional development programming for 15 PhD scientists and engineers each year.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Jeffery adapted the Fellowship into a fully virtual program using Zoom and Google Suite tools. Jeffery also led changes to achieve diversity, equity, and inclusion goals, such as recruiting a more diverse applicant pool, and adding an equity lens to the professional development curriculum.

Jeffrey Song pursued a Ph.D. in Engineering and Public Policy as well as Civil and Environmental Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. Jeffery also completed their Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering and Applied Mathematics and Statistics at The Johns Hopkins University.

They are on a team with Brenna Teigler - Chief Fellowship Officer, Karin Lion - Chief Growth Officer, and Philip Loew - Senior Director, Expansion. Their manager is Todd Johnson, Interim Chief Executive Officer.
