Jason Kjolsing

Lead Brand Designer and Web Developer at Active Motif

Jason Kjolsing has a diverse work experience, starting in 2011 with their role as a Teacher at the University of California, San Diego, where they focused on teaching writing courses utilizing a user experience (UX) approach. Concurrently, they served as a Supervisor and Researcher at UC San Diego Peruvian Archaeology Lab, managing international research teams and collecting ethnographic data for reports and publications. In 2015, Jason worked as a Quality Assurance Tester at Veyo Logistics, conducting usability and functionality testing for a mobile driver app.

In 2016, they co-founded Cultivate Consulting, taking on the role of a UX Researcher and Design, where they employed design thinking to create exceptional customer experiences. Jason'sresponsibilities included researching customer needs, testing market interest, and designing prototypes. Jason's next position was as an Archaeologist at ASM Affiliates, Inc. from 2009 to 2019, overseeing construction projects for compliance with cultural protection laws, recording archaeological data, and collaborating with stakeholders to complete multimillion-dollar projects.

Most recently, Jason joined Active Motif in 2019, first as a Web Content Coordinator, responsible for managing web content, and then as the Lead Brand Designer and Web Developer, where they led brand design efforts and developed websites. Overall, Jason Kjolsing has exhibited a broad range of skills, including UX research and design, teaching, project management, and archaeology.

Jason Kjolsing holds a Master's degree in Anthropology and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Anthropology, both earned from UC San Diego. Jason has also obtained various certifications, including the Google Ads Creative Certification, Shopping Ads Certification, Google Ads Display Certification, Google Ads Search Certification, and Google Analytics Individual Qualification from the Google Digital Academy (Skillshop). Additionally, they have completed the Design Kit: Prototyping course from NovoEd and the User Experience Design course from UC San Diego Extension.
