Joe Fernandez

Joe Fernandez has had a successful career in the biotechnology industry. Joe founded Active Motif in 1999 and served as CEO and Chairman until August 2017, and continued on as Chairman. Prior to Active Motif, Joe was a founder and Senior Vice President of Business Development at Invitrogen (now Life Technologies) from 1987 to 1999. Before that, they worked at Stratagene in research and development, specifically in cloning and vector development, from 1985 to 1987.

Joe Fernandez completed their A levels in Biology, Chemistry, and Spanish at Runnymede College in Madrid from 1967 to 1978. Later, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biology at Hiram College from 1978 to 1982, where they received their BA degree.
