Carlos Torres has extensive work experience in the field of computer vision and machine learning. Carlos most recently worked at Actuate as a Computer Vision + DL + ML specialist. Prior to that, they were a Lead Research Scientist - Computer Vision at SafelyYou. Carlos also held the position of Senior Computer Vision Engineer at BlackSky. Carlos has experience as a Lead Research Scientist at Two Six Labs and as a Senior Researcher & Principal Investigator at Mayachitra, Inc. Carlos has also worked as a Data Scientist & Machine Learning Researcher at Procore Technologies. Carlos began their career as a Graduate Student at UC Santa Barbara and has also worked as a Data Scientist at Carpe Data, a Research Assistant at San Jose State University, and an Undergraduate Researcher at Georgia Institute of Technology.

Carlos Torres holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Vision & Machine Learning, which they obtained from UC Santa Barbara between 2012 and 2017. Prior to their PhD, they completed their Master's of Science (MS) in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at UC Santa Barbara from 2009 to 2012, specializing in Signal Processing, Controls, and Machine Intelligence. Carlos also obtained a Bachelor's of Science (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering (EE) and Bioengineering from San Jose State University from 2004 to 2009, focusing on Digital and Analog Circuit Design and Signal Processing.

In addition to their formal education, Carlos has acquired several certifications. In 2018, they completed the "Building Deep Learning Applications with Keras 2.0" certification from LinkedIn. More recently, in 2022, they obtained the "Advanced Pandas" certification from LinkedIn. Carlos'smost recent certification is "MLOps Essentials: Model Development and Integration" from LinkedIn, which they received in January 2023.
