Acuario Michin es una institución educativa, científica, cultural y recreativa que tiene como finalidad proteger y conservar la biodiversidad acuática, promoviendo su conocimiento a través de actividades educativas, exhibiciones permanentes ó temporales. A través de los distintos pabellones que conforman el acuario, se busca que los visitantes conozcan los diferentes ecosistemas acuáticos con los que cuenta nuestro país; abordando la relación ambiental, histórica y cultural, entre el agua, las especies y las culturas prehispánicas de México.
