Gloria D. Sefton

Gloria Sefton is Chief Legal Officer at AcuFocus. As the company’s sole in-house attorney, she maintains full accountability for a wide range of complex legal activities including corporate transactions, intellectual property portfolio growth and expansion, and supply, distribution, and clinical trial agreements. Gloria joined AcuFocus in 2009.

In addition to legal expertise, Gloria brings diverse ophthalmic and life sciences industry experience spanning 35 years. From analytical chemistry to medical writing, clinical research, project management, and intellectual property portfolio management, her experience gives her exceptionally broad insight into the eyecare sector. She is inspired by the lifecycle of bringing innovations to market from idea inception to rigorous testing, iteration, and ultimately high-quality execution resulting in products that help patients achieve their best possible vision.

Gloria holds a Juris Doctor (summa cum laude) from Whittier Law School and a Bachelor of Arts (magna cum laude) in biology and chemistry from California State University.
