Magda Michna

Magda Michna, Ph.D., is Chief Global Clinical, Medical and Regulatory Affairs Officer at AcuFocus. She provides leadership for clinical development and global registrations of AcuFocus products and was instrumental in the development and submission of the U.S. premarket application (PMA) for the company’s groundbreaking small aperture IOL technology. Her strategic guidance helps to shape the company’s overall direction.

Over her 17-year career in ophthalmology, Magda has held senior leadership positions in global clinical, medical, and regulatory affairs and has led clinical development efforts both in academia and in the ophthalmic industry. Her proven track record of successful regulatory approvals, product development, and lifecycle management strategies have led to the adoption of multiple ophthalmic surgical devices that are positively changing patients’ lives around the world. She is an active member in several ophthalmic associations including as a U.S. representative on the International Standards Organization (ISO) committee for ophthalmic implants.

Dr. Michna holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in optical physics and a Bachelor of Science degree, both from the University of Melbourne, Australia.
