Akalanka Jayalath

Akalanka Jayalath has a diverse work experience, starting in 2013 as a Data Entry Operator at Infomatum Lanka (PVT) Limited. In 2014, they joined OIT as an Associate Quality Assurance and was responsible for quality checking processed images. In 2018, they interned at eBuilder as a Software Engineer (DevOps), where they worked on tasks related to automation and Jenkins pipelines. In 2020, they joined Platform One, initially as an Associate Software Engineer and later promoted to Senior DevOps Engineer. In this role, they led multiple projects in DevOps, cyber security, and cloud infrastructure, resulting in improved productivity, reduced manual work, and enhanced security. Akalanka also designed and implemented efficient solutions for scalability and continuously improved DevOps engineering practices. Currently, they are a Delivery Lead at Acuity Knowledge Partners, starting in 2023.

Akalanka Jayalath completed a Bachelor's degree in Management and Information Technology from the University of Kelaniya Sri Lanka from 2016 to 2020. Prior to that, they attended Bandarawela Central Collage from 2000 to 2012, focusing on Physical Sciences. Akalanka also holds various certifications, including Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor - Information Security Certification, Core Python: Getting Started, Getting started with Google Kubernetes Engine, Understanding AWS Core Services, and a Sustainability Leadership Training Program from the Center for Sustainability Solutions - University of Kelaniya. They are also a candidate for (ISC)² certification, which they plan to obtain in September 2022.
