Sandia Akhtar

Sandia Akhtar is an experienced professional currently serving as Associate Research Manager and Senior Policy Lead at Acumen, LLC since July 2016. In this role, Sandia manages a cross-functional team dedicated to conducting statistical analyses using public and private insurance claims databases for the FDA, including post-market safety monitoring of Covid-19 vaccines. Previous positions include Policy Lead, where Sandia worked on transforming private insurance data and developed statistical analysis plans for epidemiological studies, and Data and Policy Analyst, focusing on client-ready deliverables and analysis interpretation. Sandia's earlier experience includes research and marketing internships, as well as serving as a Tour Guide and Undergraduate Research Fellow at the California Institute of Technology, where Sandia earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Computational and Applied Mathematics and Economics.
