Alan Sommer

Alan Sommer has over 20 years of work experience in various roles within the manufacturing industry. Alan began their career at Textron as a Plant Engineer, where they were responsible for machinery design and rebuild. Alan also managed budgets and led the environmental, health, and safety program. Alan later became a Six Sigma Black Belt, specializing in process improvement projects.

In 2005, Alan joined Acument Global Technologies as a Plant Manager, overseeing manufacturing plants that produced fasteners for automotive and industrial customers. Alan had P&L responsibility for these facilities and managed a team of 100-135 employees.

Alan then transitioned to the role of Director of New Business Conversion at Acument Global Technologies, where they worked on developing new partnerships and strategies. Alan later became the Director of Purchasing - Supply Chain, responsible for negotiating agreements with suppliers and achieving cost reduction targets. Alan focused on reducing risk in the supply chain and consolidating suppliers.

Throughout their career, Alan has demonstrated expertise in various areas such as supply chain management, procurement, process improvement, and team leadership.

Alan Sommer attended Michigan State University from 1993 to 1999, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Alan later pursued an MBA in Finance at Walsh College from 2006 to 2010.
