Eric Beattie has held various roles in the scientific and research fields since 2002. Eric began their career as an Associate Scientist and Affiliated Scientist at the California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute. In 2010, they became a Senior Scientist in the Department of Cell Biology at iPierian. In 2013, they became a Principal at BioVector Innovations, where they consulted in basic neuroscience research and the digital health spaces. In 2014, they became a Strategic Partnership Consultant at Panasonic USA. In 2016, they became a Consultant at Amgen, a Principal Scientist at Teva Pharmaceuticals, and an Advocate and Consultant at Collaborative Drug Discovery - CDD VAULT. In 2020, they became a Senior Staff Research Scientist and Research Manager at The Gladstone Institutes / UCSF Mission Bay, where they managed an innovative academic research program focusing on the discovery of new mechanisms and therapies for neurological diseases. Eric is currently a Principal Scientist at AcureX Therapeutics.
Eric Beattie completed their high school education at Crystal Springs and Uplands School in 1980-1983. Eric then earned a BS in Genetics from the University of California, Davis in 1983-1987. Afterward, they pursued a PhD in Neurosciences from the University of California, San Francisco in 1991-1998. Eric then completed two postdoctoral fellowships in Neuroscience, one at UC San Francisco in 1998-2000 and one at Stanford University in 2000-2002.
