Michael Brownell

Michael Brownell serves as the Chairman of the Board at AcuSurgical, a company dedicated to developing an innovative surgical robotics platform for ophthalmology. Since 2012, Michael has also been a Strategic Advisor and Consultant at Axiom Innova, providing expertise in technology and product development to various clients, including Keranova. Prior experience includes serving as CEO of Gobiquity Mobile Health, where Michael led the establishment and commercial launch of a smartphone-based vision screener. Michael's extensive background in the medical optics industry includes roles at Abbott Medical Optics and Intralase, where leadership in R&D and product development for vision correction technologies was demonstrated. Educational qualifications include a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Physics from San Diego State University, with a specialization in Lasers and Optics.
