Aline Wheatley

Aline Wheatley possesses extensive legal expertise with a focus on business development and project finance within the energy sector. Currently serving as the Director of Legal BD at ACWA Power since November 2017, Aline has previously held significant positions including Executive Legal Manager and Senior Counsel at ENGIE Southern Africa, where involvement included providing legal advice for various engineering and financial projects. Aline's career includes roles as Project Manager at Aveng Africa, overseeing legal aspects of Renewable Energy projects, and as a Senior Associate at Bowman Gilfillan Inc., working on Public Private Partnerships. Aline's foundational legal training began as an Associate at Allen & Overy and as a Candidate Attorney at Bowman Gilfillan, complemented by a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
